Our Story

Real-World Refined. Swiss-Engineered.

A Sailor-First Approach to Robotic Marks

Our story didn’t start with a business plan; it started with a goal: to make a quality robotic mark that served each of its users: clubs/organizations, race committees, and sailors.

As sailors, we have waited for racing to start while the race committee struggled to set a course. The wait is painful whether you are waiting for an evening race course to be set or the medal race in the Olympics.

RoboMark was born on the shores of Lake Thun when Olympian Chris teamed up with a local group of Swiss sailors and engineers. What started as a passion project among friends quickly grew into a mission: combining world-class regatta experience with Swiss engineering to create a truly dependable semi-autonomous robotic mark.

Today, we still hand-assemble every unit in our Swiss workshop on a simple premise: every robotic mark that leaves our shop is the mark that sells the next.

Proven Against Competitors

Selected ahead of competing market options, our original C1 system tested our engineering with the Swiss Sailing League. Listening to rotating race committees every weekend guided us to develop the system into the user-friendly RoboMarkCLUB.

Since 2020, our original C1 system proved its reliability through four full seasons of high-intensity racing across Switzerland and international waters. While those original marks remain active on the water today with In-to-the-Blue, we found that yacht clubs needed that same performance in a more cost-effective format.

Rather than simply shrinking the unit, we redesigned the robotic mark around real-world feedback. The RoboMarkCLUB simplified handling. We engineer for longevity because your club’s investment must last, and we refined our original designs to respect the real-world needs of the race committee.

Built for Towing, Simple Handling, and Reliability

Real-world durability isn’t proven in a laboratory—it’s tested on open water. Overcoming saltwater environments and signal range challenges gave us the confidence to expand our Swiss technology worldwide.
Taking our marks into coastal waters pushed us to refine every hardware detail. We tackled saltwater corrosion and signal range head-on, ensuring our closed-network Hubbox delivers uninterrupted control no matter where you set a course.

The result is a robotic mark designed specifically around daily club operations: towability to the starting area, volunteer-friendly handling, and the highest reliability. We owe our growth to the early Swiss and American clubs who recognized our build quality from the start. We continue to assemble every mark with care to honor that trust.

RoboMarkCLUB Robotic Mark

RoboMark, the Professional RoboMark

Real innovation protects your investment; it doesn’t replace it. RoboMark features the market’s only standalone closed Wi-Fi system alongside a fully functional Mobile + web app. RoboMark ensures the hardware you buy today remains world-class tomorrow.
Great technology should give you choices. That’s why RoboMark offers two ready-to-use control options right out of the box: the industry’s only closed Wi-Fi network for total independence from cell coverage, alongside a web app for seamless cellular control.

Best of all, the robotic mark hardware stays identical. You don’t need different mark models or costly hardware swaps to change how you command your course. You get reliability today, and you simply pick the control option that best fits your race committee.

We are there when you need us.

Every phone call matters.

We engineer and build our marks to have as few calls back to us as possible. We cherish our time as a family, and when we get a phone call letting us know something is not functioning properly for our users, we – and we do mean our whole team – drop everything to attend to the issue.

This is a family business, so our kids are out on the water with us testing the equipment; they’re the ultimate product testers.

Having designed every component, troubleshooting is direct and fast. Calls are rare, but when one comes in, we diagnose the issue quickly to keep your robotic marks on the water.

Every Decision is thought out.

From the materials we select to the spare parts we ship, we build every detail around real-world race management. Questions we asked ourselves while designing our robotic mark.
  • Easy handling on and off the water?

    • Yes, engineered for effortless towing and launching
  • Short learning curve for new operators?

    • Yes, intuitive controls let anyone learn to operate the system.
  • Repairable on the water?

    • Yes, modular components mean quick fixes, including rapid motor swaps.
  • Smart spare-parts support?

    • Yes, we provide the exact backup components needed to keep racing.
  • Low-maintenance post-race care?

    • Yes, trigger the rinse program, tilt the motor into a freshwater bucket, and it cleans itself automatically.
backup plans

RoboMarks are created with backup plans to get more racing

  • PLAN A: Everything works as it should; WiFi or cellular connection is working, and you can operate the marks remotely.

  • PLAN B: No remote connection, no problem. Instead, just use the green “Start Anchor” buttons located on the mark. Bring the mark to the desired position, press and hold “set anchor”; it will hold position until you press the red “Stop Anchor” button.
  • PLAN C: Forgot to charge the battery? Attach an old-school anchor to the towing bridle.
